Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts
Bidding, Compliance, Section 11k
It’s been almost three years since the competitive bidding rules of Section 11k became mandatory, and trustees continue to have questions and concerns about the statute that requires fire districts to seek sealed bids for most purchases over $20,000.00.
Trustees still wonder: “How Does it work?” “What are the rules?” “How do we do it?” “Are there any exceptions to the law?” Are there any penalties if we don’t comply?”, “Do even small districts with small budgets need to comply?”, and “If we do need to comply, exactly what do we need to do?”.
These, and other important aspects of this law (70 ILCS 705/11k) will be explored and explained in the in the webinar to be presented by a veteran fire district attorney.
