You, Your Association and the General Assembly
Published by Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts

Join IAFPD’s Legislative Lobbyist for an introduction, or perhaps refresher, in the legislative process in Illinois. From the election of legislators to the passage of bills and your role in the process, Brittan Bolin gives an easy to follow, guided tour. Participants will gain a  better understanding of the legislative process, including when and how bills are amended, how they are passed from one chamber to the next and how committees function. You will see the high volume of bills introduced, the roles committees assigned to carry legislation and the works of a shell bill. As local governments face challenges, this program shows fire officials the importance of working relationships with their lawmakers and will provide insight on how and when to effectively communicate with their offices

1 CE Hour is available for those who have completed the 12 Hour ETT program.
